Hi.

Let's go on an adventure!

Some Good News

Some Good News

These are some not easy times right now. I’m sure I’m not the only one who gets shivers down my spine every time I hear a phone go off with another news notification. And my reaction used to be “oh let’s see what’s going on in the world!” But now? Now I think of those who are in critical condition and those who lost a loved one. And I want to cheer on those who are mentally struggling through an abundance of bad news because it’s difficult to deal with even for the strongest of minds. Not everything is bad and here is why!

According to John Hopkins University Covid-19 map (widely used data), 142,000 world residents have recovered from the virus. While it might not seem like a high number, I have also noticed it’s not accurate. According to the data registered for NYC, 0 (zero) cases have recovered which is untrue. There are several people I know about who are now happy and healthy post-virus. Along with pretty famous people, one of my favorite bloggers Ariel Charnas shared her Covid struggles and recovery on social media for all of us to see the past three weeks. This brings me to the next conclusion - the number of recoveries is greatly underestimated. I wonder if it’s because every new positive and a death get to be reported, while most who stay home and recover on their own don’t go back to doctors to get a checkmark-stamp-signature of being well again. And logically speaking, New York was one of the first states to report the first cases in the beginning of March. There is no possible way ZERO have recovered. Moreover, I couldn’t find anything recoveries related on the CDC website.

The country is running out of animals to adopt due to many people picking up a companion to foster during these times. I saw this on Instagram somewhere and thought it was interesting so I searched for confirmation and found several articles like this to prove. I didn’t believe it either, so I called a few shelters in my county and asked them personally. They confirmed! How amazing?! And you know what that means? Most of them are falling in love with their co-quarantiners as you read this so foster will eventually turn into adoption! :)

Cities around the world are applauding the healthcare workers who are truly beyond words I can type up - real MVPs right now.

This week scientist concluded that ozone layer has been restoring itself in the past 20 years and due to Montreal Protocol and less emissions is expected to have even more positive effect over time. While there is still climate change, the article states “stratospheric ozone recovery might therefore manifest, or have already manifested, in other aspects of the Earth system.”

The good news is that there are actual good news going on. We just don’t get to hear about them because media is doing a very terrible job at keeping it positive lately. Some people are not as emotional as me but I was truely tearing when reading some of these.

Feel free to add in the comment section whatever else made you happy this week.
